Due to a scheduling conflict at Carnahan Hall, we will not be having our regular worship gathering on Sunday, November 3. Instead, we're inviting everyone to participate in Meet-Up Weekend, a totally unpredictable experiment in getting to know one another and deepening relationships.
Here's how it works:
If you're up for the adventure, you'll sign up using the electronic form below. (You can also sign up in person on October 20 or 27 during our worship gathering time).
Upon signing up, your name will be placed in a hat. (Yes, we're going to use an actual, literal hat.)
On Tuesday, October 29, your name will be randomly drawn (from an actual, literal hat) along with one or two other names.
You'll then receive an email or text letting you know whom you've been paired up with, along with contact information so you can get in touch with them.
You and those you've been paired up with will coordinate a time and place to get together (house, restaurant, whatever) and "have church" over a shared meal sometime during the weekend of November 2-3. How and when you do it is totally up to you!
By the end of this experience, hopefully you'll have stretched your comfort zone, made a new friend, and experienced church in a more intentionally relational way.
That's all there is to it!
If you're thinking this sounds potentially awkward and maybe more than a little bit weird, then you're probably in good company. But who knows: maybe this experience will turn out to be as rewarding as it is awkward and as encouraging as it is weird. So jump in and let's see what happens!
NOTE: We'll be drawing names by family unit, so if you're part of a family (2 or more people), you'll only need to sign up once for your whole family. On the other hand, if you're a single individual, feel free to grab one or two other single friends and form your own impromptu family.
