Since the beginning of Renewal's very brief history, we have said that one of our goals as a community is to "reimagine" what church can be. We're not interested in settling for easy answers or doing what worked in past generations. We're not interested in copying so-called "successful" ministry models or conforming to cultural stereotypes about what the church should be. Instead, we want to follow the Spirit. We want to dream with a sanctified imagination. We want to be open to new frontiers of bold and creative expressions of church life in a world that increasingly sees the church as hopelessly uninteresting and irrelevant.
Toward that end, we're devoting three Sundays in May to hashing out a little bit of what this might mean. Think of it as a series of hands-on workshops. Or group brainstorming sessions. Or creative dreaming labs. This is a space for us to prayerfully explore where God is leading us.
