On the morning of Sunday, July 8, 2018, a few people met up in a shelter at Murdock Park for a worship service. There weren't any donuts or coffee. There weren't any microphones or guitars. There weren't any big green signs or classes for kids. There were just a few open-minded people who were curious to see what God would do as they embarked on an impromptu experiment known as Renewal Church.
One year later, we're gathering back at Ground Zero to celebrate this first chapter of our collective story and rejoice in God's faithfulness to us as a growing church community. Instead of our usual gathering at Carnahan Hall, join us on Sunday, July 7, for our first anniversary party at Murdock Park. Here are all the details you'll need to know:
We'll meet at the shelter next to the basketball court and across from Murdock Elementary School. There is parking available right along Cason Street.
Come hungry! We'll be serving up some delicious pulled pork sandwiches from Eddie Joe's Icehouse for lunch. If you're able, bring along something to contribute to the meal (a side, dessert, or drinks). Plates, cups, utensils, and all that fun stuff will be provided.
If you have a few lawn chairs, it wouldn't hurt to bring them. Depending on the turnout, we'll probably need the extra seating.
Feel free to bring along yard games, frisbees, basketballs, or anything else that might be fun to do as we hang out. There's a walking trail, a disc golf course, and a basketball court at the park.
Whether you've been around since the very first Sunday or you've just started hanging out with us in the last few weeks, we'd love to have you join us. It's a family celebration and everyone's welcome!
